When I was writing the book, I didn’t realize how many songs I was unconsciously incorporating into the narrative. Once the book was edited and finished, I decided to make a playlist of all songs mentioned or described throughout.
This playlist admittedly lacks continuity and, like the book, it jumps around in time quite a bit. Had I written the Vanagon to Louisiana with a playlist in mind, this group of songs might have made more sense. And though I did consider going back through the book and editing the song selections to make the playlist better, I realized that it would be a rather silly and disingenuous move on my part. (Once a DJ, always a DJ.) Enjoy!
