Joseph Trussell is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana who spent his formative years as a military brat in multiple non-Louisiana locations. He returned to his home state at thirteen, obtained his first of 28 (and counting) Volkswagens at sixteen, and eventually graduated from LSU after a seven-year bachelor’s degree odyssey in which he became a DJ and music snob, amateur mechanic, and aspiring writer.
The urge to write never left him, and he has written essays, poems, short stories, newspaper columns, several blogs, and a full-length memoir about his beloved Louisiana.
